FAQ
Q: WHATS THE TURNAROUND TIME ON A BREAK-IN AND TUNE?
A: Since we do break-ins “the old fashioned way”(it's not old, it's experienced!), it typically takes one entire work day to complete. It will then be tuned the following day, so we’re at a turnaround time of 2-4 days. If an engine is received on a Saturday, it will have combustion the following Monday.
Q: DO I HAVE TO PAY DOUBLE SHIPPING?
A: Return shipping is free. You ship the package to us and we will pay the shipping for the way back.
Q: DO YOU ACCEPT INTERNATIONAL ORDERS AND SHIP INTERNATIONALLY?
A: We do and we can, though international shipping prices may be a bit pricey at this point in time.
Q: CAN I SEND MY EXHAUST+HEADER WITH THE ENGINE?
A: Yes. We actually suggest doing so because a different exhaust setup can throw off the tune.
Q: DO YOU SERVICE AIRPLANE ENGINES?
A: No, we only service on-road and off-road surface engines.
Q: WHAT KIND OF FUEL IS USED?
A: We use VP racing fuel and TNR fuel.
Q: DO YOU SHIM THE ENGINE FOR FUEL WITH HIGHER NITRO CONTENT?
A: No. If customer chooses the 25% or 30% (most engines sold today can handle the 25% without issue) nitro option, it is their responsibility to ensure proper clearance. If customer wants to use higher nitro % but is not sure about the shimming, it can be arranged, just shoot us a message!
Q: CAN I USE A DIFFERENT FUEL AFTER RECEIVING MY ENGINE?
A: Yes, but if it’s a fuel with a different oil/nitro content, slight changes will have to be made to the tune.
Q: CAN I SEND FUEL THAT I PREFER?
A: Yes. 2 liters for break-in. 0.5 liter for tune/dyno.
Q: DO YOU USE TEMPERATURE TO TUNE?
A: We use head temperature and EGT (exhaust gas temperature) combined with sight and sound . Of course it can be done without temperature, but precision comes with combining the use of all methods.
